The Sindh Integrated Health & Women Empowerment Project (SIHWEP), Government of Sindh, organized the Inauguration and Cheque Distribution Ceremony of the Interest-Free Microfinance Activity on 12 February 2026 at NJV Government High School, Karachi, in collaboration with Akhuwat Islamic Microfinance.

Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, Honorable Minister for Health & Population Welfare Department, graced the ceremony as Chief Guest along with senior officials from the Health Department and SIHWEP.

Under the first phase in Karachi, 203 women entrepreneurs were awarded interest-free loan cheques (Qarz-e-Hasna) up to PKR 200,000 each to support business expansion and sustainable livelihoods. Approximately 500 participants attended the ceremony.
